Here’s a story about some of the impact from the project “Little Bang’s New Eye”.
In 2016, I travelled for the first time to Vietnam with Dr James Muecke from Adelaide based NGO Sight For All with the aim of making a film. After a return visit for following up filming, came a short film that I shot, edited and directed and was fortunate to have wonderful Australian actress Kerry Armstrong narrate for me. The film was made to demonstrate the impact of the work fo Sight For all and made it to film festivals overseas as well as winning a number of awards. Little Bang’s New Eye follows the journey of 3 year old Hmong girl Bang as she travels to Hanoi with her father and sister to receive life saving treatment by Sight For All. Bang was diagnosed with retinoblastoma – a form of childhood eye cancer.
